Tiny started dancing with the Soweto Dance Theatre under the guidance of the late great internationally acclaimed dancer/choreographer Jackie Semela.
In 2000, Tiny won the Best Dancer award in Johannesburg’s annual Arts Alive competition. In 2003 she was discovered by Drum Cafe and took to the djembe like a fish to water.
Together with six other ladies, Tiny forms a part of the highly successful Drum Cafe “Basadi Le Meropa” Women of the Drums group, where they share and showcase their talents in marimba, drums, dance and song.
As feature performer in Drumstruck since its beginnings, Tiny’s natural talent and feeling for African expression continues to add great value to the company.
During the New York run in 2006 she was nominated for the Relly Award along with Richard Gere and John Travolta.
Tiny is also part of a big, confident, enthusiastic and energetic house music duo called “Heavy Weights”, where she performs with the stage names “XL”.
